A workshop, not a platform
plainforge exists because the simplest jobs on the web grew the most complicated paywalls. Somewhere along the way, resizing an image started to require an account, a trial and a marketing consent.
What this is
plainforge is a network of small, free web tools. Dozens live right here on the hub; the bigger ones run on their own domains so they stay fast and focused. Every card that leaves this site says so, with ↗ and the destination in plain sight. Wherever you land, the rules are identical: free, no accounts, no tracking. Most tools run entirely in your browser; the few that need live data, like routing or weather, say so on their own pages.
Who builds it
An independent maker in Vilnius, Lithuania. Nobody funds this, and nothing here needs feeding. Tools get built because they were missing, and they stay up because keeping them up is cheap when you refuse to collect anything. The full imprint is on the privacy page.
One light in a larger sky
The hub is part of a body of work: 34 live websites, from driving instruments to rain for sleeping, all built at the same desk under the same promise. We drew the whole thing as a star system. Open the sky map and fly through it.
How it stays free
A small number of sponsor slots, always marked Sponsored, never disguised as tools, never inside your search results. If a sponsorship would require adding tracking, it doesn't happen. That line has no exceptions.
Colophon
The whole hub is hand-built static HTML, CSS and a little vanilla JavaScript — the entire stack fits in one folder. Your favorites and recently-used list live in your browser's localStorage and never travel. The design is what we call workshop minimalism: porcelain and iron, a verdigris accent, raw copper saved for rare sparks, and monospace wherever the site is being technical with you.
